About Julie Berger
My work bridges art, design, human factors, natural environment, and engagement of the senses.
Obtaining a Master of Fine Arts in Metal Design from University of Washington and a BS in Art from University of Wisconsin, my design investigations are impassioned by the habit of use, the exploration of the senses, and the delicacy of nature’s embrace, unfolding a passionate visual language.
Intrigued by materials and the processes my experience teaching Industrial Design, Art, and Manufacturing at college level exposes me to constant engagement of current flows of culture and technology, stimulating my development of new concepts and stories.
The portfolio projects repertoire spans from furniture, lighting, fountains, gates, and sculptures to diverse large-scale public art installations, including transit centers, bridges, fences, way-finding beacons, and unique identifying elements of place.
I welcome collaboration with architects, landscape architects, engineers, municipalities, community vision, and private clients to create projects that are timeless, evocative, and true to the client and environment.
My current focus is on launching a new furniture portfolio based on extensive investigation of art, product design and manufacturing.
