FOREST SUCCESSION
Everett, WA 2002
These benches are adjacent to a series of timber industry paintings by Kenneth Callahan from the 1940’s. Each bench represents a stage of the forest regeneration, from stumps marked by the harvest axes, to new growth, and finally to maturity. This represents the first growth alder.
